Dragon-Fly

This is my first time I came across this Yellow-tailed Ashy Skimmer (Potamarcha congener) dragonfly - captured in my backyard few days ago. This dragonfly usually flies very high while preying and appears near body of water to mate and lays eggs during bright hot afternoon. They are often seen perching high up on electric cables.

Garden Spider

My garden has a new resident - the St Andrew's Cross Spider (Argiope keyserlingi). Garden spiders can be recognized by their distinctive black and yellow markings. And, for as scary as they may look, garden spiders are much like many other spiders. Meaning, they are generally passive and must be severely stressed to bite
